Four times a year, the Group’s Sureserve Legends awards celebrate colleagues that improve our working day and consistently prove themselves to be great ambassadors for the Group. The awards are driven by the strong relationships and collaborations across our businesses, and our people put forward nominations describing extraordinary acts of customer service, professionalism and compassion, as well as those that are a thank you for simply making someone smile.

Because of the important work we do in homes and communities across the UK, many of the award nominations we receive describe situations in which a member of one of our teams has gone above and beyond for a resident or customer. The impact of these stories on both ourselves and our clients and partners is always significant, and for this reason we have created a new award specifically to recognise these individuals.

The Sureserve Legends in the Community award will celebrate employees that stand out and exceed expectations whilst delivering services to homes and communities.

It is right that we recognise those that go above and beyond expectations in the delivery of their work, and that at the same time that we strengthen that commitment.”

We are delighted to name the winner of the first Legends in the Community award as Luke Mort, Gas Engineer at Sure Maintenance based in Liverpool. Whilst on a routine gas safety visit, Luke's quick thinking, compassion and calm response was crucial in helping a tenant who was experiencing substantial difficulties. Both Your Housing, the client, and Luke's colleagues at Sure were quick to thank him and praise his actions. Andrew Culloden, Contract Manager at Sure said that "Luke's actions went above and beyond what is expected from his daily duties. He really is a credit to the business". Well done Luke, and to all those that were also nominated for awards.
