Moat

H2O Nationwide Ltd were originally approached by Moat Homes to provide a solution for the implementation and ongoing water hygiene management across their portfolio of properties throughout the South East.

Moat is a leading housing association employing over 300 people and providing affordable homes in thriving communities for people in the South East. For over forty years, they’ve delivered high quality general needs homes for affordable rent, retirement housing, and independent living, and have a strong affordable home ownership offer.

They are one of the Homes and Communities Agency’s development partners. Developing around 500 new homes every year all financial surpluses are reinvested to provide additional affordable homes and services.

As the number 1 ranked service provider on the South East Consortium legionella control framework, H2O was able to work immediately for Moat through direct call off arrangement, meaning there was no delays in the mobilisation of these essential works.

Initially H2O surveyed and barcoded the assets on all of the clients sites to enable the data to be uploaded into the web based water hygiene management portal. Following the survey period, the routine monitoring and testing regime was implemented with all data being collected on hand held tablet devices and uploaded in real time to the portal.

Following the completion of the first month’s results, management reports were prepared to demonstrate all of the tasks that had been completed along with any outstanding remedial actions that were required and recommendations to accompany these. This reporting allowed the client to priorities important actions and ensure compliance targets were met.

In addition to this, KPI data was drawn from the system to demonstrate how the contract was performing both in terms of H2O’s attendance and task completion and in terms of compliance across the portfolio

The result of this level of reporting and implementation of the we based system meant that Moat Homes brought their level of compliance from 76% in month 1 up to 94% in month 4, beating the national average of 93% within a relatively short period of time.
