We believe that every business should carefully manage and measure its impacts, and doing so is a key part of our strategy.
We are committed to ensuring that we do all we can towards providing energy efficient homes. Throughout our services and choice of suppliers we always consider the environmental advantages we can bring, by way of appropriate system choice, quality installation and a regular service programme.
Our vehicles are chosen carefully to minimise CO2 emissions whilst giving practical use and fuel economy. Vehicles are sensibly managed to avoid unnecessary journeys.
Our Environmental Policy
We recognise the importance of the impact of our activities on the environment. We constantly consider ways in which we can conserve energy and minimise waste throughout all activities we undertake. In addition to compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, we endeavour to take positive action in reducing impact on the environment by completing a measured programme of focused activities.
Health and Safety
We are committed to continuous improvement and do everything we can to ensure anybody affected by our work is kept safe, both during our operations and into the future. We operate a Health and Safety system and are certified to the ISO 18001 standard accreditation for Occupational Health and Safety Assessment. This enables us to underpin our internal management system and assist with driving regular performance reviews and improving our processes and procedures.
As a result, we believe our commitment to health and safety exceeds the standards that are common to our industry.
When it comes to looking after our own people, we have a programme in place that provides all employees with high quality safety training tailored to our business workstreams. We also enable employees to undertake core training when on the move, covering health and safety essentials such as Working at Heights and Asbestos Awareness. Delivered via our Learning Management System (LMS), an e-learning system from the Sureserve Academy, this is always supported by instructor-led training.
It is our policy to work with our customers, staff and our supply chain to ensure that all waste is disposed of in line with legal and environmental requirements.
Recycling and use of Recycling Materials
We both use and promote the use of, recycled materials whenever possible, ensuring that materials are disposed of in an environmentally safe manner at the end of their useful life.
We manage electricity, and water supplies to ensure minimum consumption through energy efficient initiatives. It is our policy to make resourceful use of natural light within our buildings and to conserve energy by adopting an ‘only turn on when using’ approach to equipment.
Environmental Management Awareness
To raise and maintain a high level of understanding, of, and participation in, and environmental best practices, we appraise the projects and contracts that we are involved in, to ensure they assess environmental risks and comply with our Environmental Policy wherever practicable.
