The Sureserve Group are pleased to announce the delivery of 30 of our new zero emissions electric vehicles, ready for commercial use immediately across several of our businesses. The Citroen e-Dispatch vehicles will take to the roads this week, and are one of a number of investments being made across the Group to reduce emissions and reinforce our commitment to delivering environmentally sustainable services across our operations.

We have always sought to manage our fleet of commercial and company vehicles to the most efficient standards available, and the addition of these electric commercial vehicles will start the next stage in our journey towards a greener and more economical fleet, with further additions planned in the future. As well as the environmental value in using zero emissions vehicles, we are encouraged by the potential cost savings, and with fewer moving parts, less requirements for servicing, maintenance and repairs.

Peter Smith, Interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, was there to receive the keys at the Group’s offices in Dartford. He said “Every day our people are in homes and communities across the UK, much of the time installing or maintaining energy efficiency measures and making sure people are warm and safe in their homes. This is an exciting step towards building zero emissions into that service delivery, improving air quality and delivering sustainable improvements to our operational commitments.

Dean Williams, Group Fleet Manager said “With these initial vehicles we’re learning a great deal about how to maximise value both in terms of our operations, and the environmental impact we make whilst undertaking our work. We'll be recording the performance of the vehicles whilst on the road and using a trial period across a number of businesses to identify further efficiencies going forward.

The Group is also pleased to be rolling out a number of electric vehicles to our Leadership team, replacing diesel cars and ensuring sustainability is at the heart of our culture. These investments form part of the Group’s ongoing ESG commitment, and are significant in ensuring we continue to look after our people, our communities and our environment.
