K&T Heating was appointed by L&Q Housing to undertake annual safety checks, servicing, breakdown call outs and maintenance of domestic gas heating systems, appliances and installations.
It included the production and maintenance of services, logging asset registers (including gas installations, shared water facilities, controls and valves, and white goods), void inspections, capping supplies, recommissioning, supply and installation of all replacement parts, maintenance and checks of all associated flues, pipe work, radiators, controls, valves (including thermostatic mixing and gas cut-off valves), pumps, electrical supplies, builders' work, means of access and smoke and heat and CO detectors.
The client issued mini programmes for 10 homes on a regular basis. We immediately contacted residents to arrange pre-inspections at a convenient time, which included evenings and weekends.
We are particularly mindful of the needs of vulnerable residents and adopted the use of a password which was pre-arranged with those residents who required this service via our call centre. Passwords were only made available to our operatives via their PDAs at point of entry. This helped minimise disruption to the programme and provided reassurance for more vulnerable people.
