Markets: Public buildings

London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority

We’ve transformed three existing light industrial units into a 21st century fire station.

The building was designed to minimise its carbon footprint, and make efficient use of energy and water. Low carbon technologies include photovoltaic panels, solar heating panels, a rainwater harvesting system, and combined heat and power unit, and a heat recovery unit. Just three months after the project completed we received a National Site Award from the Considerate Constructor Scheme. Judges commended us for our exceptional achievements in the category of ‘neighbour’, and said that the site was a credit to our site team.

Harold Hill fire station was awarded Havering Council’s Sustainable Design and Construction Award.
